Spanish Government to Demolish Cofradía de Pescadores Building at Las Teresitas Beach

The Spanish Government announced the demolition of the Cofradía de Pescadores building at Las Teresitas beach on Tenerife. The reason is the poor structural condition of the building.

The building was closed by local urban authorities five years ago. The Spanish Government cites neglect, degradation, and vandalism as the basis for the decision.

The facility ceased operations as a fishing association in 2025. The Canary Islands Government dissolved it due to a lack of active fishermen. The building was also used as a restaurant.

This means the square and surroundings will remain accessible. The building itself will be removed. It is not yet known what will be built on the site after demolition.
