Human bones found on Garachico beach

Human remains were found on the Garachico coast in Tenerife. Archaeologists are conducting excavations.

Human remains were discovered on the beach in Garachico. The bones are face down and measure approximately 1.65 metres. The sex of the deceased has not been determined. Research suggests the remains may date from before the Spanish Civil War. Archaeologists do not rule out other hypotheses. Excavations have been ongoing for two weeks. No clothing or footwear has been found. There are no bullets or a skull. Historian Luana Studer states that links to the Civil War period cannot be confirmed or excluded. Researchers await further discoveries in the lower chest area.
