AEMET: Calima recedes and rain expected in October on the west

AEMET reports that the calima is receding. Cloud cover and the risk of rain will increase on the islands in the coming days.

Tuesday, 29 September, will be mostly sunny. Cloud cover will increase in the mountainous interiors in the evening. Local rain is possible in these areas. Light calima will persist at altitude and in the upper parts of the islands. Temperatures will be stable. They will reach 30°C locally in the Tenefield interior and on the eastern islands. The wind will be weak from the east. It will become moderate from the north in the evening.

Wednesday, 30 September, will see increased cloud cover on the mountainous islands during the day and evening. This may bring light rain. The calima will weaken. Temperatures will remain up to 30°C in the south-east of Lanzarote, on Fuerteventura, and in the southern medianas of Gran Canaria. The wind will be moderate from the north-east.

The forecast for October predicts more cloud cover, particularly in the west (north and west), with a chance of light rain. The south and east are expected to have breaks in cloud cover and possible evening rain. The wind on the eastern islands will be predominantly from the north.
